Most of us remember exactly what we were doing…what we were wearing…what we were eating…what we were complaining about…when we stopped, as if frozen in time and heard the words “A plane just crashed into the Twin Towers.”
We sat there watching the television – Shocked. Saddened.
And as we sat with our eyes glued to the television screen and held our breath and hoped for the best…we watched in horror as a second plane flew into the towers and it was then – that we knew…that we REALLY knew what was happening.
And it brought us to our knees.
We watched as people ran screaming through the streets, running for their lives – terrified, curling into balls, trembling, hysterical and in shock…but most importantly – we watched HEROES rushing toward the destruction, knowing they were running to their deaths with the hopes of saving even just one life.
We remember those that sacrificed their lives that day.
We remember those that lost their lives that day.
We remember the families that still ache for their loved ones.
We remember those that answered the call to wage a “War on Terror” and who have lost their lives because of it…so you didn’t have to.
We remember the children who had to say goodbye to their Fathers and Mothers as they were called into active duty and ultimately killed in action.
We ride to honor them all.
Please join us for our 10th Annual Remembrance Run on September 7th, 2013.
*All Riders and Bikes are welcome.
*You do not have to be a member of the American Legion Riders or any motorcycle group or club. Individuals are welcome to join in this ride and “Cages” (cars/vehicles) are welcome to ride along as well.
It is our annual motorcycle ride from Vancouver Washington to Bellingham Washington.
The proceeds from this event go towards the American Legacy Scholarship Fund – which helps to provide educational money for the children that have lost a parent as an unfortunate consequence of Operation Iraqi Freedom and America’s War on Terrorism.
These parents lost out on the opportunity to see their children through school and into adulthood. Providing for the children of our Military members who are left behind is our civilc duty.
