After serving their country, sacrificing time away from their families, watching their friends killed in action, fighting for their lives and our freedoms, being wounded and “Forgotten”, being spit on and shamed when they returned home, struggling daily with PTSD (Post Traumatic Stress Disorder), struggling with ailments and medical problems caused by being exposed to toxins during chemical warfare , being unable to function in civilian jobs, facing homelessness and hunger and giving up their “today” so that we can have a free tomorrow…many Veterans have given up hope of ever having their voices heard by the very people they were willing to give their lives for.
On Monday – August 26th, 2013, Please join other Veterans at Bellingham’s American Legion Post 7 for a meeting with Congressman Rick Larsen and share your thoughts, your concerns, your ideas and let your voices be heard.
Congressman Rick Larsen invites all Veterans who live in the Second Congressional District to attend so they can discuss issues facing Veterans and how his office can help access Veteran’s services. The discussions will also feature representatives from the Seattle Regional Office of the Department of Veteran’s Affairs, local Veteran’s service providers and local Worksource offices.
